On stripping down this Suzuki, it became aparant that every one of its dozen or so owners had done their own repairs and “modifications” so we had to do a lot more to return it back to original than is usual. The frame had been altered to take a different seat and electrics set up and was held together with the style of bolts that you get from the local iron mongers!
After stove enamelling and chrome work, the chassis resembled what left the factory all those years ago, and with re-painting the tank and side panels, was close to completion.
The engine was a straight forward strip, requiring a crank rebuild, rebore, pistons and cosmetic clean-up for the cases. The end result is a very practical, usable classic Suzuki which should offer many miles of enjoyable biking!
Ready to go!
