1981 Kawasaki Z1000J

This classic Japanese four cylinder machine was brought to us having covered a lot of miles and looking very tired.

Once stripped the engine was found to be worn. The pistons and bores were well out of tolerance, so new genuine pistons/ rings were sourced, to go with a re-bore. The crank was also worn out so it was sent for a full rebuild with specially imported big end bearings.

A set of new exhaust valves and freshly cut seats ensured the cylinder head was in good shape and with a coat of paint it would be mechanically sound and look good too.

The chassis too has had the New Era treatment and has been restored using either re-chromed, zinc plated or painted parts to give this end result, the candy red Lawson style paint scheme makes it a real head turner.
