Intructions from the from the customer was to restore the chassis only, as the engine had been re-built only a few years previous, so we only had the cylinders and heads aqua blasted to brighten them up.

As we stripped the bike we found that it looked worse than it actually was so only the task of sourcing parts would hinder this restoration from being a reasonably fast turnaround.

A lot of the chassis parts were in a suitable condition to renovate and re-use, although a new swing arm bush kit was required. So, with some stove enamelling, chrome and zinc plating and numerous off the shelf parts, the chassis was complete and be ready for another 35 years of use.

with the new paint work on the petrol tank and panels, and re-covered seat, this Japanese classic was completed. After riding it you can understand why the old triples have such a following.
