1967 YAMAHA YR1 GP/ Minor

After stripping the machine down, a few of the pivot points had to be re-bushed or have oversized pins made to remove excessive play before we sent the frame for stove enamelling.

The original rear suspension units were still in good working order so they were stripped and re-chromed, we also managed to re-chrome the original wheel rims which we always prefer if at all possible as the new rims that are manufactured do not have the same contours.

The engine was stripped, the crank cases blasted and outer covers polished. Although the crank checked out to be in good order the piston to bore clearances were measured and found to be out of the wear limits, so with a re-bore / new piston and rings, gaskets and seals it was rebuilt.

As for the chassis, all of the usable parts were plated, painted or chromed and after a few months the transformation was complete.
